Are you trying to activate your new Hello Mobile account with an eSIM? Follow this step-by-step guide to get activated and start your service.
Follow These Steps Before Scanning Your QR Code:
1. Check your phone’s eSIM compatibility
- Double-check that your phone supports eSIM. If your phone has an EID number, your phone is eSIM compatible. To check go to Settings and tap About. You can also dial *#06# to check your EID number.
2. Ensure your phone is unlocked
- Unlocked phones are not tied to a specific carrier’s network which means they can work with more than one service provider. If you brought your own phone to Hello Mobile make sure it’s carrier unlocked.
For iPhones
- Go to Settings
- Select General
- Tap About
- Scroll down and locate Carrier Lock
- If it shows NO SIM restrictions, your iPhone is unlocked.
- If it shows SIM locked, your iPhone is locked.

3. Remove Your SIM Card
- If your physical SIM is not being used for an active phone number, remove it from your phone before installing your new eSIM.
- If you currently have an eSIM installed that will no longer be used for an active phone number, delete the eSIM before installing your new one.
4. Connect to Wi-Fi
- Ensure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi and is charged or plugged in during the activation process.
5. Update Software
- Make sure your phone is running on the most up-to-date operating system to avoid any software-related issues.
For iPhone:
- Go to Settings
- Select General
- Tap Software Update
- Check for Updates
For Androids:
- Go to Settings
- Select System
- Tap System Update
- Check for updates
6. Restart your phone
- Before scanning the QR code or installing the eSIM manually, remember the golden rule, turn your phone off and on.
